Description
Thorichthys maculipinnis (formerly T. ellioti), also known as Elliot's Firemouth, is a mid-sized cichlid from Mexico. Like other firemouths, it is relatively peaceful for a cichlid of its size and can be kept in larger community aquaria. They are gregarious fish and appreciate being kept in groups, although males are still territorial so adequate space and hiding spots are needed. These are likely the most beautiful species in the genus, with intense red and yellow body colour, topped off with electric blue markings over the body and fins.
These are juveniles, around 1.25" long. They are unfortunately too young to sex with any degree of confidence, sorry!
